Background

  • The life sciences division of a corporation acquired a medical claims processing company with unique software IP
  • The resulting integration required physical migration for all IT platforms and multiple data centers to an approved hosting facility to satisfy security standards

Contributions

  • Provided onsite diligence and assessment of all risks and opportunities
  • Worked with the key product IP stakeholders and the technology support teams to create a migration plan
  • Designed a quality assurance and risk mitigation plan
  • Ensured production migration checklists with more than 400 steps were defined and tested prior to the final data center move
  • Scheduled, managed, and oversaw the physical migration of a data center

Results

  • Created the PMO strategy and plan for the migration of a $1.7M data center
  • Managed the team who performed the work and assisted them with creating the quality assurance and test validation procedures to ensure a defect-free result
  • Migrated and validated the data center in 72 hours over a holiday weekend without customer impact
